I know, I'm posting this out of order......sigh....
Just as the Christmas Season was approaching, our good friends, The Peterson's, invited us to come along to see the light festival at the zoo. This was really fun. And an adventure. Neither family knew exactly where we were going...but isn't getting lost part of the appeal of dual family trips? We had a really good time, despite the awful smell of those nasty zoo animals. :)

This was really cool. At the entrance, they had a bubble machine that spit out teeny tiny bubbles that made it look like it was snowing. Since snow is a rarity in the south, this became a very exciting feature of the trip.

Everyone should have an opportunity to milk a cow in their lifetime. Real or otherwise.

The Peterson Gang

This is my favorite, the meer cat family gets progressively smaller, and Adam and Daniel followed suit to complete the pattern....all on their own. So cute.

Couple of monkeys.....

The love bird exhibit

It's hard to get an accurate picture of those beautiful lights without getting blurry people....

There were a few animals we were able to see in the dark, this was the flamingo exhibit. It smelled just awful.

King of the jungle

More "snow".
