Franklin did an experiment (BJU Physical Science) where he had to place a candle into a shallow dish of water, light it, then put a beaker over the top. Once the candle burned up all the oxygen, it sucked in water to replace the air that was now gone. He demonstrated this experiment to his brothers, and as you can see from their expressions, especially Daniel's, it was impressive.

Franklin's Science
Franklin did an experiment (BJU Physical Science) where he had to place a candle into a shallow dish of water, light it, then put a beaker over the top. Once the candle burned up all the oxygen, it sucked in water to replace the air that was now gone. He demonstrated this experiment to his brothers, and as you can see from their expressions, especially Daniel's, it was impressive.
This is what 10th grade looks like
Books, binders, science equipment, pens, and paper...oh my! We are nearly half way through tenth grade, and have somehow managed to survive.
I think Franklin would beg to differ, however......
This is the day we got in all of our science equipment for this semester. It looks like it might be a fun next several months!
How Things Work
They saw the rust stains and could not be convinced that the water was not somehow contaminated with really nasty stuff. :)
It was priceless.
You can see just a little bit of it from his profile how expressive he was.
Those Double "O's"
Our other Babies
Pearl is the black puppy. She always has to have something in her mouth, like a baby with a pacifier. She is always carrying a bone or a toy or something. Elizabeth is the other cutie, and she loves me like crazy. Annie is the mommy, and even though her babies are two years old, she still 'mothers' them. She is always cleaning out Pearl's ears.
Let it Snow!
n
Well, it's southeast Georgia, so there is not a lot of opportunity for snow, but we did get some flurries. We took a black sheet of construction paper and placed it in the freezer for a little while, then took it outside and let a few snow flakes drop on top of it. Frank zoomed in with the camera and we were able to really see the formations of the ice crystals. It was way cool!
